I enjoy building things like this and uploading each step of the build to my TikTok, these are always entertaining to me to build and have fun with and show off to friends and family.

Surprisingly good quality. Thick boards with an exception of a single board that was needed for specific parts. No warping of boards at all. Metal axes and no toothpicks whatsoever. Lighting harness held up to lots of bending and twisting and never broke. All the cuts were precise and parts came off without issue.Engineering and design are also top notch. Lots of functional gearing throughout the base of the model. I really enjoy kits that have functional mechanics as this one does. The first half of the build is assembly of the mechanism with the second half being more of the aesthetics. All the lighting is nicely recessed, and the battery compartment is so over engineered it makes me smile to play with it.The use of colored parts is a welcome addition as I grow tired of all the painting I've been doing on other models. The final product has a high quality look to it without any customization. I highly recommend this kit.

I have not put this item together yet, but I will make some initial comments. First, the box is super cute and the items are well packaged. The wood pieces are sealed in plastic and the additional components that make the device move seem to be in good condition. There is an instruction manual that lays out all of the items in photographic detail which is going to be imperative because as my headline suggests, the instructions were not written in English. It was VERY clear that these instructions were written in some other language and then poorly converted to English. I will be relying VERY heavily on the images for each step (which thankfully there appear to be plenty of throughout) to put this together. I do worry about the size of the images and where each component goes, but I think I can probably take photos with my phone and enlarge anything I can't see too well when I start constructing it. Be prepared to have sandpaper and a screwdriver on hand, based on what I noticed at first glance through the book. There is a QR code to watch the carousel in action and I highly recommend this if only for the motivation to put the thing together. Will update on difficulty of construction after I've had the chance to put it together.

This is another fine wooden kit from ROKR, It’s a level 4 and this one requires 2 CR2032 Batteries to function. It Has a well illustrated instruction book and all parts are labeled. There are included spare parts so that you can continue if you loa=se or break some part. . There is a page with illustrations of all the non wooden parts and the associated part number.

This was my first puzzle of this type an I found it very easy to put together. Not one piece broke an it’s very sturdy, I found that out after the finished model got knocked off the table. Marbles run perfectly thru without getting caught up. The lights are a nice touch. I love this model. I’m 55 an can’t help but play with it every time I go by it lol

The media could not be loaded.  First of this type of project for me, instructions are very clear an parts fit perfectly together. I’d say if I kept at it it would take around 8 hours to put together.

Pros:BeautifulFun to assembleCons:Gears didn't line up for usMoving parts inaccessible once builtMy 12 year old son enjoyed building this. But about two thirds of the way through it became obvious that some of the gears weren't lined up properly and the marble run wasn't going to work when cranked. We tried adjusting some of the gears, but they were deeply covered by other parts at this point. The directions need a better way to tell you if each section is put together properly before you move on to the next section. But so many of the moving parts are put together before you can really test it. Our choices were to disassemble the entire thing, try to remove the bottom, or give up and have a non working hand crank / marble run. We tried to remove the bottom but that was not going to work. I think the design should have allowed better access to the moving parts once assembled, like a hatch on the bottom. We ended up giving up on the marble run and we have a decorative Chocolate factory.Because it's hard to get the gears working properly, I wouldn't give this as a gift to someone. Finding out that you didn't get the gears installed quite right was pretty discouraging. My son stopped building it for a few days straight before starting up again.Overall there was a lot of time enjoyed building the marble run.

I took this puzzle to my office as a fun distraction to work on during breaks. It brought my coworkers together, since they all thought that the puzzle box was a chocolate box. They were a bit disappointed when they opened it and found a wooden puzzle instead. This puzzle has 400+ pieces, some of which are small and require patience to handle. Each piece is labeled with a letter and number, so it’s easy to identify which parts you need for a particular step. There is a tool included for measuring and pushing the pieces in place. Popping the pieces out of the boards is easy, and none of the pieces came out broken or cracked. The instructions are easy to understand and each step is accompanied with a picture.Completing the puzzle is time consuming and I haven’t had the chance to finish it, but I will update with a picture once I do.

This was a lot of fun to put together. My fingers definitely hurt a lot when I was done, but it was worth it. I did check to make sure that the gears could turn before I put the pieces together, but in the end it didn't really turn correctly, which is fine because I'm just using it as decoration. I like putting together legos, so this was a nice alternative to that. The only thing I would say badly is that it didn't have the batteries included like it says that it does. So I can't see how it looks with the lights on. I'll have to buy some batteries to put in so that I can do that.

I've got this about half done, and it definitely takes some effort, especially for someone with big hands and weak eyes. I'm enjoying it, though. I've only broken one part- they're a little more sturdy than balsa, but not much- and it was missing the button batteries for the lights, but these aren't deal-breakers. It is very cleverly designed. There is a fair amount of gearing in the bottom, and it's all running smoothly. The instructions are mostly understandable, and well=paced, but they occasionally forget to reference a part. If you have the patience, or like putting things together, this is an awesome kit.

The media could not be loaded.  I love wooden puzzles. Usually, I can get through them pretty easily. This one, while I love the end results, was a pain to assemble! Some of the instructions didn’t make the translation to English well, and it caused some confusion at some parts. There were parts of the instructions that didn’t apply that were also confusing. For example, I spent 15 minutes trying to “peel protective layer from both sides” of a thin plastic circle before I came to the conclusion, it had no protective plastic! The assembly itself was a bit rough. Some parts really needed to squeeze into place. It does come with a lot of spare parts for the tinier pieces, which is good, but it doesn’t say exactly WHAT parts are extras. I snapped a couple pieces during inserting, and just stuffed the broken piece into place as I didn’t know if THAT particular piece had a spare (turns out, it did).Otherwise, this thing is SOLID!!! The pieces do fit together snuggly, but this is also the only wooden puzzle I’ve assembled that requires no glue whatsoever! I’m actually really impressed with the level of engineering that went into this piece! If you have the time and patience, this is a great puzzle to own! The end results are amazing, and I highly recommend it! It’s just not for beginners or young children, in my opinion.

Talk about a very unique and awesome model! I am not exactly a steampunk fan, but really liked how this looked and more so, what it does. I figured my grand kids would have so much fun with it. Everything comes packed very well, much better than many products I see.the instructions are VERY detailed, have not had a problem so far. Be warned though, there are SO, SO MANY parts to this one. Not saying that is a bad thing, just saying, be prepared to spend some time on this one and you probably should have a dedicated space to put it together as it will likely take some time to assemble it. Even though there are many pieces, everything is labeled well so you should not have any issues.I have not fully assembled it, hard to find the time, but I am chipping away at it and I'll be sure to post some more pictures and should be able to post a video.Such an amazing kit, price is very fair, would gladly recommend!

This wood puzzle was fun to do.The instructions were easy to follow and it comes with great picture illustrations that helped with the assembly. The wood material is thick, its easy to detach from the board and easy to fit together. The colored wooden parts are well painted and looks good.It comes with the included tools to make the assembly much easier, and all pieces are well numbers for easy identification. The mechanics work well with no issues.Overall a great quality and fun puzzle. My daughter and I loved it.

The media could not be loaded.  I have assembled a lot of these wooden puzzles, lots of different styles and different brands. Prior to this model Rokr was always one of the best. The Chocolate Factory really fell short of my expectations. There were multiple holes that didn't line up properly. It was missing batteries, not a huge deal but annoying. There were so many extra parts I thought I missed some steps. Once it was all assembled I was very disappointed with the movement, it is not smooth, the marbles get stuck and a lot of the moving details are hidden. It was fun to assemble, I probably spent 15+ hours over multiple days putting it together. Current list price is $59.99 at the time of this review, this is about average for a model of this size/complexity but the function doesn't live up to my expectations based on other models from this brand.

  1. I enjoy building things like this and uploading each step of the build to my TikTok, these are always entertaining to me to build and have fun with and show off to friends and family.

  2. All the lighting is nicely recessed, and the battery compartment is so over engineered it makes me smile to play with it.The use of colored parts is a welcome addition as I grow tired of all the painting I’ve been doing on other models. The final product has a high quality look to it without any customization. I highly recommend this kit.

  3. This was for my 11 year old’s birthday. He loves it! I got him one of the other marble runs for christmas last year as well. The chocolate factory said it was advanced, and it was. He did the vast majority of the build himself. I would hang out with him and punch out pieces as he needed them. The material is very sturdy. He did break a few small pieces, but all but was had extras on the sheet and was able to recover easily. The instructions are thorough enough for an 11 year old to complete this in 2 days, maybe twice the stated time for an adult. The included wax for the gears was brilliant, I just wish that it was shaped better for handling. It was a little small and difficult to maneuver at times.I will be looking for more of these kits for both children in the future.

  4. I do worry about the size of the images and where each component goes, but I think I can probably take photos with my phone and enlarge anything I can’t see too well when I start constructing it. Be prepared to have sandpaper and a screwdriver on hand, based on what I noticed at first glance through the book. There is a QR code to watch the carousel in action and I highly recommend this if only for the motivation to put the thing together. Will update on difficulty of construction after I’ve had the chance to put it together.

  5. Not easy to assemble and make it work. I’ve been taking it apart for more than 10 times to make the mechanical part work. Thought it will do but not untill the last step, it’s stuck again. Now I only got it built but not working 😔

This was a challenging project for my hubs, mostly because he had our 3 year old “helping” him. The pieces are well cut, assembly takes some time, but the finished product is really nice looking, although it is a little too fragile for toddler play (not a con, just FYI). We do play with it together, and it’s holding up well to daily marble runs. Definitely giftable, great for puzzle lovers who have done every 2D puzzle imaginable and probably good for model builders, too.

Like many of these types of articles, the assembly is a little challenging. The instructions, however are well written and require minimal interpretation by the assembler. Giftable is based on the age and skill of the recipient.

This item is great for the people that need a good challenge. I recommend it for the person that has nothing better to do. If you can complete this puzzle and get it to work, than you have accomplished something in your life. Good Luck

I bought the marble run as well, and this was by far easier to assemble. This has better quality wood pieces that don't break easy. I did not have to glue anything. The instructions were also spot on.I was impressed that there was wax included in the kit! It was really well thought out. It was fun to assemble all in all.I just think the marble run is more fun to play with but this kit was way better and way more fun to assemble.

This certainly a unique and funky design, for what is called a “Chocolate Factory”. It is made of wood. There are sheets of wood and you will need to remove the pieces. But you certainly do not want to remove the pieces until the instructions advise you two. Also, you need to be very careful when removing the pieces so that you do not snap or break them. A thin bladed knife or razor blade can come in handy when trying to remove “stubborn” pieces. This is the sort of item that is nice for kids and adults to work on together. This model kit is made in China and being sold by Chinese company on Amazon. At the current price of sixty bucks it is certainly overpriced, but a very unique item.

I'm not a novice at 3D puzzles. I spent quite a bit of time building this one, slowly following the instructions step-by-step, but somewhere along the line I messed up. I didn't know I messed up until I had fully finished the build. There are two problems. 1) As I crank the handle it works fine but then binds up and I have to shift one of the central components to get it to break free. 2) When a marble is dropped right into the center it gets stuck. There is not enough of a gap between the shelf the marble is on and the piece overhead of the marble. I have to put a pencil in there and push the marble through. It is possible that both of these failed behaviors are the result of a single error I may have made.Too bad this was my end result. I only spent a short time trying to figure out what I had done wrong but it is just too complex and difficult to access the portion that needs work. If I could have figured out what was wrong I may have been required to back out many parts to gain access to the area needing the fix. I wasn't willing to do that. We put the neat, finished, 3D puzzle on a shelf and I cleaned up after three weeks of building it.The truth is the word that kept coming up as I was building it was, precision precision precision! The laser cuts are all very precise. There were zero issues locating and extracting parts from the frames. There were no missing parts; in fact there were extra parts designed in. No glue is required. Everything fits perfectly. Only light sanding, and waxing gears, is required. The instructions are very detailed but I do think some could be a bit clearer. Some supporting text might have helped in a few places. For me the most difficult part, the part that became tedious for me, was locating and extracting the parts. I might spend two minutes or more locating a part, then another minute snapping it out of the frame.I do recommend this puzzle, but suggest it requires quite a bit of patience.

I absolutely loved kits like these as a kid and this does not disappoint. The precision with this one is absolutely outstanding. I remember having to sand down everything to get the gears to work smoothly. Not this kit. just sanding to remove the occasional burr from where the pieces were attached to the board and a bit of the included wax. It took me about 2 days to complete. my kit was missing the batteries for the lights but not the end of the world. I did have to take part of my kit apart and rework the wiring for the lights as my instructions were unclear about which wire to use on which step, but once I figured that out it made perfect sense! I absolutely will be looking into more of these!
