Tell Me Thursday

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

In yesterday’s Wordless WednesdayI shared this picture.  This is a picture that I took last week while going for a nice walk in our neighborhood with my kids.  Winter weather finally seems to be at an end and spring is slowly emerging.  This lake is one of my favorite things about our neighborhood.

On this particular day, we saw a family of ducks with the mom, dad and three ducklings swimming together and looking for food. It is wonderful to be able to experience this little bit of nature whenever we want to.  We share some wonderful times at this lake.

Ponce de Leon Day

Did you know that today is Ponce de Leon Day?  Ponce de Leon is the famous explorer who went out in search of the fountain of youth.
Learn a little abot this famous explorer here:

In his honor, go out with your children and do a little exploring of your own.  The weather here is finally starting to turn to spring.  This is a good time to go for a nature walk.  You can search for interesting bugs, flowers and things just starting to bloom.

Some Earth Friendly Activities

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

Earth Day falls on April 22nd and there is quite a bit that we can teach our children to help them respect the world around them.  The activities that I have put together for you are about teaching your children about composting, gardening and recycling.  You can start these things in April, for Earth Day, but we hope that there will be lasting effects well beyond this one month.

You can find a some history of Earth Day and activities here:
